| １ 概要 Outline |
| ZF41シリーズには、物理的な機構（レンズ構成）からは3種類、刻印された形式名からは５種類（ZF、ZF41、ZF41/1、ZF40＊、ZF40）のタイプが存在する。 広義のZF41として、内部機構に着目して１型から３型と呼ぶことにする。１型は一番当初の設計で、「初期型」と呼ぶこともできる。このタイプのマーキングは、極初期には番号なしの「ZF」とだけ刻印されたものがあり、cxn製とbmj製のみで確認されている。それ以外については、すべて「ZF４１」と刻印されている。これに対して、２型は基本的なレンズ構成（６群9枚）はそのままで、主として外見的な改良を加えたものである。このタイプはｃｘｎ製のみ存在し、刻印は「ＺＦ４１」とされたものと、当初「ZF40*」と刻印されたものが「41」を追刻されたものがある。そしてさらに、レンズ構成を大幅に簡略化（４群５枚）したものが３型である。これらの刻印は、「ZF41/1」と、当初「ZF40」と打刻されたものが「41/1」に改修された２種がある。 ２型と３型は、外見的にはほとんど同じであるが、内部機構は全く異なる。その生産は、cxn (Emil Busch社）による２型が先行し、後に各社によるZF41/1の量産が進められたと考えられる。 Classifying ZF41 series, there are 3 types from physical structure, and 5 types from the marked designation (ZF, ZF41, ZF41/1, ZF40＊, ZF40). "ZF41 Type 1" is an early type. Very early ones are marked only "ZF" and only seen on cxn and bmj made. Others are all marked "ZF41". "ZF41 Type 2" is a late type, which was improved externally, while the lens system is almost same as that of Type 1 (9 elements in 6 groups). This type is marked "ZF41" or originally marked "ZF40*" but reworked with "41" added. Type 2 is only made by cxn without exception. And "ZF41 Type 3" has much more simplified lens system of 5 elements in 4 groups. This group is marked "ZF41/1" or originally marked "ZF40" and was reworked into "41/1". Although Type 2 and Type 3 is similar in appearance, they are quite different internally. It is believed that cxn (Emil Busch) started the production of Type 2 first and then was followed by mass-production of Type 3 by various other manufacturers. |

| ２ レンズ構成の相違 Internal Differences (Lens System) |
| 先述したとおり、１型及び２型のレンズ構成は６群９枚、３型は４群５枚であることが大きな違いである。 １型及び２型は、対物レンズ群にダブレット（合わせレンズ）１つとシングル１つの２群３枚、対眼レンズ群にシングル２つの２群２枚、エレクターレンズ部にダブレット２つの２群４枚、合計して６群９枚になる。このうち、当初のもの（１型）の対物レンズ群だけを改良し、大径化したものが２型である。エレクターレンズ部と対眼レンズ部に変更はなく、１型、２型間で共通となっている。 ３型は、レンズ数を大幅に減らし、対物レンズをダブレット１つ、接眼レンズをシングル１つ、エレクターレンズ部をシングル２つの合計４群５枚としたものである。 以上を模式図化すると下図のとおりとなる。 このように、１型、２型から３型への変更は光学的に新設計となっているので、本来ならばZF41 ２型を「ZF41/1」、ZF41/1を例えば「ZF42」という形式名とするべきものであったと思われる。 As mentioned, the lens system of Type 1 and Type 2 consist of 9 lenses in 6 groups while that of Type 3 consist of 5 lenses in 4 groups, which makes the major difference between the three types. Type 1 and 2 has a doublet and a single in 2 groups for objective lenses, 2 single lenses for ocular lenses and 2 doublet for erector lenses, that makes 9 lenses in 6 groups in total. Type 2 is improved from Type 1 by making the objective lenses larger. The ocular lenses and the erector lenses are same between the two. Type 3 has reduced the number of lenses from former two types, with a doublet for objective, a single for ocular and 2 singles for erector, making 5 lenses in 4 groups. These images are described in a diagram shown below. Thus, according to the difference of the optical design, ZF41 Type 2 should be designated "ZF41/1" and ZF41/1 should be named "ZF42" for example. |
| ３ 外観上の相違点 External Differences |
| （１）対物鏡筒 Objective Tube |

| 対物側の鏡筒の外径は、１型が約22mmであるのに対し、２型と３型（ZF41/1）は約24mmである。このため、対物側レインシールドも寸法形状が異なっている。写真の左が１型､右がZF41/1で、両者に互換性はない。２型とZF41/1は同じレインシールドを使用する。 "27-1079J2"はAnforderungszeichen（発注記号)と呼ばれるが、"1079"はZF41/1を示すGeraetnummer（機器番号）※であるので、このレインシールドはZF41/1用と思われる。 The diameter of the objective tube is 22mm (Type 1) and 24mm (Type 2 and 3(ZF41/1)). Thus, the front rainshield is different (left Type 1, right ZF41/1). While rear rainshields seem to be quite identical, front ones are not interchangeable. Type 2 and ZF41/1 use same rainshields. | 接眼側鏡筒形状の比較。左が１型でレンズは２群2枚、右がZF41/1でレンズは１枚である。両者の外見的な違いはレインシールドを装着していてもわかる（最上図参照）。２型の全体的な外観は、ZF41/1とほとんど同じであるが、レンズ構成が１型とほぼ同じであるため、ここだけ１型と同型である。
