| 第２回：軍仕様の民間用照準眼鏡 Military-specification commercial scopes |
| 第一次世界大戦後、ドイツでは狩猟等に使用する多種多様な民間用照準眼鏡が大量に生産されたため、開戦後に軍用として転用された照準眼鏡にも様々なメーカーの様々な製品が存在する。 しかしながら、1943年から1944年にかけて生産されるようになった軍の発注に基づく生産品の種類は限定的で、存在が確かなものは表１に示す8種である。 After the First World War, a wide variety of civilian telescopic sights for hunting and other purposes were mass-produced in Germany. Consequently, there existed a diverse range of products from various manufacturers among the telescopic sights repurposed for military use after the outbreak of the war. Nonetheless, the range of scopes produced under military contract starting from around 1943 to 1944 was limited, with at least eight types confirmed to exist, as shown in Table 1. |
| これらの照準眼鏡には、民間用との相違点として共通する特徴があり、おそらく軍から示された仕様に従った結果である。しかしながら、それらの特徴はすべての照準眼鏡全種で常に該当するものではなく、例外も見られることから、その基準は必ずしも徹底されていなかったことが窺える。 表2にその特徴を列記する。 As a distinguishing feature from civilian models, these military contract scopes share common characteristics, likely resulting from specifications provided by the military. Nevertheless, these characteristics did not consistently apply to all types of the scopes, and exceptions were observed, suggesting that the standards were not always strictly adhered to. These characteristics are listed in Table 2. |
| １ 軍用メーカーコードの使用 Use of Military maker codes |
| 各メーカーに割り当てられた英小文字3文字のメーカーコードが鏡筒上に刻印されている。これに伴い、民間用で刻印されていたメーカー名やメーカーロゴは表示されなくなっている。 ただし、A. Jackenkrollは戦中にメーカーコードを使用せず、AJACK4x90には割り当てられたコード「kxv」の刻印はない。 The three-letter manufacturer code, assigned to each manufacturer, is engraved on the scope tube. Accordingly, manufacturer names and logos that were previously stamped on civilian models are no longer displayed. However, A. Jackenkroll did not use manufacturer codes during the war, and the AJACK 4x90 bears no engraving of the assigned code “kxv”. |
| ２ グリース記号の刻印 Lubricant markings |
| ドイツの軍用光学機器には内部機構に使用されているグリースの種類を示す記号が機器に刻印されている。軍仕様の照準眼鏡には、一般的に「＋」が、一部のものには「△」が刻印されている。 グリース記号の詳細については、以下のページを参照されたい。 German military optical instruments have a symbol engraved on them indicating the type of grease used in the internal mechanism. | ３ 固定焦点 Fixed focus |
| 戦前からの民間用照準眼鏡には焦点調節装置があったが、それを廃して固定焦点としている。これには省コスト・製造時間と共に、マウントとの干渉という問題もあったためと考えられる。具体的には、タレット式マウントの場合は、マウントのリアリングと照準鏡の焦点調節リングとの位置が重なることが多く、支障となっている。 これに対して、リング式ではなくエレベーションディスク上のレバーで焦点調整するZeissのZielvierとZielsechsは変更されることなく生産が継続されている。 Before the war, civilian telescopic sights featured focus adjustment mechanisms, but these have been eliminated in favour of fixed focus. It is thought that this was due to issues including reduction of cost and manufacturing time, as well as interference with the mount. To be specific, in the case of turret mounts, the rear ring of the mount and the focus adjustment ring of the sight often overlap, causing difficulties. Conversely, Zeiss Zielvier and Zielsechs, which adjust focus via a lever on an elevation disc rather than a ring mechanism, have continued production unchanged. |
| ４ 対物レンズ前鏡筒の延長 Extended objective tube |
| 日除け・雨除けのために、鏡筒が対物レンズ前面に同径で延長されており、 ZF41やGwZF4のレインシールド（Regenschutzrohr）はハメ込み式で取り外し可能であるのに対して、こちらはネジ込み式で本体と一体になっている。 この延長部には、下側に水抜き用の穴が開いているタイプや、レンズの反射抑制のためにさらに前面にアタッチメントを付けるタイプなどのバリエーションがある。 To provide protection from sunlight or rain, the objective tube is extended in the same diameter. Whereas the rain shields (Regenschutzrohr) for the ZF41 and GwZF4 are snap-fit and removable, these were screwed to be integral with the main tube. Variations of this extension section include types with drainage holes on the underside, and types featuring an additional attachment fitted to the front to suppress lens reflections. |
| ５ 距離目盛の表示 Distance scale |
| 一般的な民間用照準鏡ではエレベーションディスク上に距離調整用の目盛りが刻まれていないことが多いが、軍仕様による照準眼鏡においては100mから800mに対応する１から８までの番号がディスクに刻まれている。 Standard civilian scopes usually lack distance scale on the elevation disc, whereas military-specification scopes feature numbers from 1 to 8 engraved on the disc, corresponding to ranges from 100m to 800m. |
